Oma Seddiq was formerly a politics reporter for Insider, covering legal affairs. 

After joining Insider in 2020, Oma reported on the 2020 and 2022 elections, the Senate confirmations of Amy Coney Barrett and Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, legislative battles and political drama on Capitol Hill, the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade, among many other national issues. She traveled to Pennsylvania and Wyoming to cover key races in the 2022 midterm elections, interviewed lawmakers on Capitol Hill, and attended and covered Supreme Court oral arguments in person.

Previously, Oma was a digital producer for Politico, where she fact-checked and copy-edited stories on politics and policy. She also contributed to its flagship policy newsletters, wrote stories about trade and agriculture policy, and wrote breaking news. Oma has also interned for Forbes and helped compile its 2018 World's Billionaires List.

Oma has made live appearances on CBS News, iHeartRadio, Fox 5 DC, WJLA and more. She was a 2021 Paul Miller Washington Reporting fellow. She holds a journalism degree from Northwestern University.
