Li Yugang is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on July 23, 1978 in Gongzhuling, China. Between 2010 and 2014, Li created two stage performances: “Flower in the Mirror and Moon in the Water” [Jing Hua Shui Yue] and “Portrait of Four Ancient Beauties (Si Mei Tu]). Together, they performed more than 100 shows in the United States and abroad. Li Yugang also released three CDs through his company, “The New Drunken Beauty”, (Xin Gui Fei Zui Jiu ), “The Dream Chaser”, (Zhu Meng Ling ) and “Lotus Flower”, (Lian Hua ). The Rhymoi Music company issued Li Yugang’s “Once Upon a Time In Shanghai” (Min Guo Jiu Meng ), CD album in 2014. Li Yugang directed and starred as Li Zhaojun in his stage production of “Lady Zhaojun” (“Zhao Jun Chu Sai”) in 2015. This was a monumental Oriental Poetic Stage production that took three years to prepare.
Li was a huge success in the following year when he performed his first solo performance in Beijing, “Where Flowers Are Unbounded” (Fan Hua Wu Jie). He was named China’s First-Class Artist (National Treasure) in 2009 after he was invited by the “National Performing and Dancing Company”. Li Yugang, the second Chinese performer to do so, was invited to perform at the Sydney Opera House, Australia in the same year. He was also awarded the Southern Cross Gold Prize for Culture from the Australian Government.
Li rose to fame in 2006 after he placed third in the Star Boulevard (Xing Guang Da Dao ), a national talent competition on CCTV. He became an overnight sensation with his performances in “Farewell My Concubine (Ba Wang Bieji ) and “The Drunken Beauty (Gui Fei Zuri Jiu), both part of the Peking Opera. After his performance, he was a sought-after performer.
Li Yugang directed and starred in his own stage production “Lady Zhaojun” 《昭君出塞》, a grand Oriental Poetic Stage production which took him more than three years in preparation. “Lady Zhaojun” premiered in Beijing on April 16–19, 2015, followed by a world tour. In August 2015 Li Yugang and “Lady Zhaojun” stage production were nominated at 4th Denny award in Beijing for the International Excellence in Theatrical Arts in four categories.
